Senior Capital Project Engineer
The Senior Capital Project Engineer will plan, support, and execute capital project engineering deliverables at our Ohio site. In this role, you will primarily be focused on mid to large sized capital projects from design to startup, while overseeing construction management and considering safety, schedule, efficiency, cost management and documentation. And you will actively be developing and appling engineering standards, project management procedures, and provide advice on issues within their engineering scope.
Key Accountabilities
Lead the development of capital project scope, schedule, and budget while following project management deliverables and best practices.
Coordinates staffing and development of construction, commissioning and start-up plans and assists operations in troubleshooting and optimization activities.
Perform process engineering for individual projects as needed to meet project objectives.
Lead equipment specification and procurement and develop, review and award bid packages for equipment and labor.
Analyze and develop solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems, or the causes of component failures.
Design and improve manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment, and testing manufactured products to maintain quality.
Informally lead, mentor and coach early career engineers through hands-on training and project work.
Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only the most complex issues to appropriate staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical, Chemical or Ag / Biosystems Engineering degree)
Employer will consider 4+ years of related experience / 8+ years of engineering
Demonstrated ability to execute large capital projects or portfolio of projects
Experience in chemical, food or related industry
Ability and desire to travel up to 20% domestically to other network plants and locations to support capital project work
Ability and desire to work hands-on in fast paced and technical plant environment.

Senior Project Manager
Role & Responsiblities:
Work as a leader of project teams to drive the delivery and implementation of major capital projects (>$30 MM USD) within our client’s company. May be required to manage projects simultaneously at multiple sites.
Full project life cycle ownership of projects: successful project delivery will include full implementation from conceptual design (prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project) through initiation and deployment for assigned projects.
Manage all aspects of projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic objectives. Includes: project scope and changes, day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings, understand interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs, participate and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections and proposals for evaluation by appropriate key stakeholders.
Define the Statement of Work and Specifications for the requested goods and services, and monitor, track, and control workstreams to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques
Intimately familiar with requirements of Process Safety Management. Should be capable of leading basic and detailed Risk Assessments, HAZOP’s, MOC’s, PSSR’s, LOPA, developing and implementing SIS.
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.
Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, & tools to improve management of capital projects.
Requirements
BS Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering required (Chemical Engineering preferred).
15-20 years Proven track record in Project Management with ability to manage multiple projects.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time required.
Ability to multi-task effectively and execute multiple projects at various stages.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
Strong technical and data analysis skills required.
A demonstrated ability to learn new chemistries and processes.
